My great-grandfather farmed coffee in Coorg (Karnataka, India) in
the late 1800's.
His son, John, then carried on the family tradition, planting the first coffee trees in the northern region of Tanzania in the early 1920's.
A century later, our family is still farming this land. It has been a long love affair with coffee.
It was such a blessing to grow up on the family farm in Tanzania.
Like the coffee trees, my roots go deep into these rich, volcanic soils. From an early age, my sisters and I were out in the fields, along side the women
picking coffee.
Fond memories of dust and song and the sweet smell of coffee cherries.
In 2007, I gave up Primary School teaching to assist with the family operation.
Their great vision was to complete the full coffee cycle - taking the bean from the field to the cup.
Over the next decade, we set up and ran a successful roastery and café, inspiring many folk on our farm tours.
We are having a little time away to recharge the batteries after a very busy summer.
The roastery is closed and we will not be able to process any orders until Friday 24th October.
Bear with us and we'll get your favourite beans to you once we are back. Thank You for your patience!
